About these notes

Short, useful posts for founders working on their site — no newsletter pressure, no courses, no lead-magnet theatre.

This is where I write down the things I end up saying to founders on intro calls — the questions that come up over and over, and the answers that would have saved me a lot of second-guessing when I was on the other side of the table.

What goes here

One post a month, roughly. Long enough to be useful (1,500–2,500 words), short enough that you can read it in a coffee break. Topics will look something like:

  • What a $1,500 marketing site actually includes
  • Designer vs. template vs. agency: the real tradeoff
  • How to judge a web designer’s work without a design background
  • The only three questions worth asking on an intro call

What doesn’t go here

Listicles. Tool roundups. Thinly-veiled course pitches. The kind of content that makes you feel productive without telling you anything new.

If a post here doesn’t meaningfully change how you’d approach your own site, I’ll take it down. That’s the bar.
